Era III: Rocky, The Pride of the Rock (2007-Present)

Rocky, Pride of the Rock is a gray lion with a green mane and green eyes. He wears green shoes and alternates between wearing a green jersey and a white basketball outfit.
Rocky debuted at the SRU men’s basketball game vs. California University of Pennsylvania on February 21st, 2007. Since then, Rocky has grown to have extensive lore (and rock puns) to bring the mascot to life. According to the University website, Rocky interned at The Rocket, worked at Rocky’s Grill, and lives in the Field House. He majors in sports management, minors in geology, and loves listening to rock ‘n’ roll music. Rocky has been a massive hit in the university community, even being voted best mascot in the PSAC in 2013. Students who portray Rocky receive the Brandon Berns scholarship to help their academics while portraying the Pride of the Rock.

Rocky can be seen all over campus, but if you want to find Rocky, your best chance is at the following places:

- SRU events including homecoming, orientation, commencement, and Weekend of Welcome events
- Community events around Butler County
- Ribbon cuttings on campus
- Grand openings for local businesses
- Professional sporting events with other mascots
